Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) - also called VRV - systems serve multiple indoor units from a single outdoor condenser. Each zone can be controlled independently, making VRF popular for modern office fit-outs, retail precincts, and multi-tenant commercial buildings.
VRF offers flexible piping layouts, high part-load efficiency, and minimal ceiling space compared to traditional ducted systems. Indoor options include wall units, cassettes, ducted fan coils, and concealed units - selected to suit each tenancy or room type.
Compared to traditional ducted systems, VRF suits buildings where tenants need individual control and metering, or where ceiling space is limited. Ducted systems remain cost-effective for open-plan spaces and buildings with existing duct infrastructure.
Building Management System (BMS) integration allows central monitoring, scheduling, and fault reporting - important for facilities managers overseeing multi-storey portfolios. We design VRF systems with BMS compatibility and provide commissioning documentation for handover.
We work with architects and building owners from early design to compare VRF against alternatives, model running costs, and deliver systems aligned with tenancy layouts and operational requirements.
